Programs Itself. Then Pays for Itself.
Meet the 3rd gen Nest Learning Thermostat. It has new rings and a big, sharp display. And it saves energy. That’s the most beautiful part.
The Nest Learning Thermostat is the first thermostat to get ENERGY STAR certified. It learns what temperature you like and builds a schedule around yours. Since 2011, the Nest Thermostat has saved billions of kWh of energy in millions of homes worldwide. And independent studies showed that it saved people an average of 10% to 12% on heating bills and 15% on cooling bills. So in under two years, it can pay for itself.
Your Life with Nest.
The Nest Learning Thermostat automatically adapts as your life and the seasons change. Just use it for a week and it programs itself.
2:00 PM—Simple installation: Pop off your old thermostat and install your new Nest. It should take about half an hour. Now turn up the temperature and get comfortable.
10:30 PM—G’night, Nest: You turn down the heat on your way to bed. Nest gets to know what you like and starts building a schedule: cozy in the morning and cool at night. Put a Nest Temperature Sensor in any room, like the baby’s room, and you can tell Nest to make that room a priority (sold separately).
7:00 AM—A warm welcome: After you turned up the heat a few days in a row, Nest learned you like eating breakfast at 70º. So now it warms up the house as you get out of bed.
8:30 AM—It knows when you’re away: You’re off to work. The Nest Thermostat can use sensors and your phone’s location to check if you’ve left, then sets itself to an Eco Temperature to save energy.
4:30 PM—Wherever you go, you’re home: The babysitter calls to say she picked up the kids from soccer and they’re heading home. You adjust the temperature from your phone so they’ll be cozy.
See How Much You Saved.
Nest shows you how much energy you use every day in Energy History and every month in your Home Report. So you can see when you use more energy, like on weekends or Monday nights, and how to use less.
Follow the Leaf.
Change the temperature to save energy and you’ll be rewarded with a Leaf. The Leaf learns how to help you save, so it appears at different temperatures for different families.
Meet the Nest Temperature Sensor.
Most homes aren’t the same temperature in every room. With the Nest Temperature Sensor, you can let your Nest thermostat know which room should be a certain temperature at a certain time of day. Just put it on a wall or shelf in a room that matters most, like the living room or baby’s room. And get the right temperature, right where you want it. (Sold separately.)
It Lights Up When You Walk in The Room.
Now the Nest Thermostat does something new. It’s called Farsight, and it lights up to show you the temperature, weather or time. You can even choose a digital or analog clock face. Farsight is big and bright on the beautiful display – you can see it from across the room.
Know Your Home Is Safe.
The Nest Thermostat is just one part of your heating and cooling system. But it can keep an eye on the rest of it. You’ll get an alert on your phone if there’s something wrong – like temperatures are so low your pipes could burst. And if it looks like your furnace is acting up, the Nest Thermostat will send you an alert.
Get Nest on Your Wall.
It’s easy to install the Nest Thermostat. Everything you need comes in the box. And it’s quick – most people install it in 30 minutes or less. Need help? You can call us 24/7.
The Nest Thermostat works in most homes. It figures out what system you have and turns on the right features for you.
Farsight: When Nest spots you across the room, it lights up beautifully to show you the time, temperature or weather.
Bigger, sharper display: The screen is 40% larger. And everything you see is brighter and crisper.
Ring: Turn the ring to adjust the temperature up or down. The thin, sleek ring now comes in stainless steel, white, black and copper.
Time-to-Temperature: The Nest Thermostat learns how long your home takes to heat up and cool down. So you know cranking up the heat to 80° won’t warm up the house any faster.
Nest Leaf: Look for the Leaf every time you adjust the temperature – it tells you that you’re saving energy. Nest will count up all your Leafs and let you know how many you collect each month in your Home Report.
Quick View: Press the display and turn the ring. You’ll see a summary of what your thermostat is up to and you can reach Settings, Energy History, or your schedule.
Weather: Nest tracks the weather so it can automatically adjust to help you stay comfortable or save energy.
It’s more accurate with more sensors: It learns about your home. Ten temperature sensors track the temperature in your home and how quickly it changes. It’s not too bright at night or too dim during the day. Ambient light sensors adjust how the screen lights up. It looks to see if anyone’s home. The activity sensors have a 150° wide-angle view. Is your home too muggy? A humidity sensor shows you indoor humidity so Nest can manage your whole-home humidifier or dehumidifier.
The Redesigned Back Plate Makes Installation Even Simpler.
It shows you when it’s straight: With a built-in bubble level, you don’t have to figure out how to keep a round thermostat straight on the wall.
It’s easy to connect: Just take the wires out of your old thermostat and put them in this one. Push connectors make it easy. They automatically make sure everything’s working. Once Nest knows your wiring, it can turn on features specific to your system.
Explore the Nest App.
With the Nest app, your thermostat lives on your wall and in your pocket. Once you connect your thermostat to Wi-Fi, you can control it from anywhere. Adjust the temperature from the app, and the Nest Thermostat adjusts quickly back at home.
Home screen: This is where you see every Nest product in your home. Just tap on the Nest Thermostat to adjust the temperature. You can control up to 20 thermostats in one home and they all work together.
Schedule: You never have to program a schedule. Because the Nest Thermostat learns what you like and programs itself. You can always adjust it manually.
Eco Temperatures: When you leave the house, the Nest Thermostat will automatically set itself to an Eco Temp to save energy. You can also manually turn on Eco Temps when you’re home or away.
Advanced Fan Control: Keep your home from getting stuffy by scheduling the fan to turn on for a few minutes every hour or at the same time every day.
Family Accounts: Now your whole family can use the Nest app to control your Nest Thermostat. You can each have your own Nest Account so you don’t have to share a login. And Home/Away Assist can even use the location of your family’s phones to turn your Nest Thermostat down when the house is empty.
Safety Alerts: What if it’s so cold that your furnace can’t keep up? What if your AC breaks? Nest can send you an alert if your home is getting too hot or too cold.
Furnace Heads-Up: If your furnace is acting up, Nest can let you know so you can catch problems before they take down your whole system. Or hike up your energy bill.
Filter Reminders: Forced air systems start wasting energy when filters are clogged, so Nest reminds you to change them regularly. Nest keeps track of how many hours your system runs so you get accurate alerts.
Nest Sense. The Brains Behind the Scenes.
With Nest Sense, the Nest Thermostat learns about your house. Like how long it takes to warm up, how drafty it is, and what the weather’s like. It also learns about your heating or cooling system and how to make it even more efficient. So while you turn up the thermostat or turn it down, Nest Sense algorithms are figuring out a thousand things in the background. And redefining what a thermostat can be.
With Airwave, your AC takes a break and the fan takes over. It spreads the cool air already in your system through your home. And you save energy.
Sunblock notices when Nest is heating up in direct sunlight and will automatically adjust so it still reads and sets the right temperature.
Cool to Dry
Keep your home healthy and beautiful. With Cool to Dry, the AC kicks in to make the air a little less humid. Especially when you’re away.
Want it to be 68° at 7am? Early-On will figure out when to turn up the heat so you’ll wake up to a perfectly warm house.
If you have a radiant system, True Radiant keeps the heat at a steady, even temperature without overshooting.
Heat Pump Balance
If you have a heat pump, Nest will make sure it keeps up with the cold. Or it will give it a boost with AUX heat to keep you cozy.
